At the beginning of the Civilian Checkpoint, walk left past the group of townspeople beating up on the squirming bodybag. Run straight forward over to the Corner Pyamy Butchery. Head to the back right corner of the building, and talk to the mysterious man leaning against the door.
After the cutscene, pick up the M92F (HG) inside the metal case. Exit through the back door and head down the stairs. You’ll come across a disturbing scene of a group of crows feeding on a dead animal. From there, make a right inside the house, and cut open the wooden boxes which yield either handgun ammo or gold. Right before exiting through the back door, be sure to pick up the green herb that’s sitting on the shelf to the right. Continue up the flight of stairs and call over Sheva to open the door.
Once in the room, you’ll be introduced to your first head to head confrontation with a majini hostile. Try stunning the majini by shooting at its weak spots (kneecap, shoulder, or head) followed up with a physical attack from behind to break his neck. After the majini is dead, make your way through the back left door. Collect the handgun ammo on the shelf, and jump out the window.
Continue down the alley and a cutscene will trigger. A mass group of townspeople will be charging at you by the dozen. Drop back and head into the safe house southwest of your map. (If this is your 2nd run through the game and happen to have a powerful semi-automatic or Mini-Gun handy, then by all means step up to the challenge. After about 50 sum odd majini, one of the dead bodies will leave behind a Topaz (Marquise).
When you make it safely into the house, be sure to collect the red herb and hand grenade on the shelf to the left. With the help of Sheva, kick down the steel door and jump down into the underground tunnel. After climbing up the ladder at the end of the tunnel, collect the handgun ammo and green herb on the shelf. Call over Sheva to open the door.
After exiting the house, drop down the ledges and collect the handgun ammo/green herb sitting on the shelf. Enter the house ahead. After the cutscene, barricade the windows with the nearby bookshelves. Grab the handgun ammo/hand grenades placed along the shelves, inside the drawers, and hidden within the fruit. Eventually the majini will break through the barricaded windows and come charging into the room. Bide your time by killing off the majini and collecting any ammo left behind until Chris contacts Kirk over the radio.
Eventually the Executioner Majini will come over and knock down the steel gate with his battle axe. If this is your first run through the game, it is strongly recommended that you try to avoid taking on the Executioner Majini on your first try. It is possible to kill him, though it may be a bit difficult with other majini coming after you from all different directions. Either way if you do manage to kill the executioner majini, make sure to pick up the Gold Ring he leaves behind.
Quickly run past the Executioner Majini and head into the house ahead, to the right of your map. Collect the handgun ammo/grenades inside, and jump out the window. Continue down the path, and collect the VZ61 (MG) inside the metal case, next to the stack of fruit. Continue left, past the explosive barrels into the next building, containing ammo/gold/herbs.
Exit the house, and find the ladder to the left past where the executioner majini broke down the gate. On first floor grab the green herb/handgun ammo on the shelves. Climb the ladder to the 2nd floor and grab three hand grenades on the ground. The roof proves to be an excellent place for cover because now the majini can only approach you from one direction. Plus this is the one area the Executioner Majini can’t get to you. Eventually helicopter pilot, Kirk, will swoop by to save the day by blasting down the locked gate, ending the chapter.
